School mission

The Genesee Community Charter School – among the highest performing EL Education schools in the nation – is located on the campus of the Rochester Museum & Science Center. Genesee Community Charter School enrolls approximately 220 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Genesee Community Charter School – Flour City Campus, is a brand new replica school enrolling 90 students in kindergarten through second grade. As charter schools, we are publicly funded and there is no tuition.

GCCS provides a rich educational experience that values intellectual rigor, respect for diversity, and community responsibility. The school uses local history, the arts, and our student’s own cultural backgrounds to explore the Rochester community as our “home.”
